In line with his advocacy for the rights of senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs), Senator Koko Pimentel III recently received 100 wheelchairs from a group of Chinese businessmen at the Senate of the Philippines.

Donors Lucio Ang, Nelson Guevarra, Sherwin Tan and Carla Tan, Henry Callano, Kim Tan, Brgy. Chairman Jefferson Lau, and  Col. Bong Nebrija of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), endeavor to help senior citizens and PWDs by providing them wheelchairs that can ease their everyday burden.

“This will assure our senior citizens and PWDs of a more comfortable life.”

“I thank the generous group headed by Mr. Ang. This partnership is built on our common goals. This will assure our senior citizens and PWDs of a more comfortable life,” said Pimentel.

The veteran lawmaker, known for his legislative priorities for the elderly and PWDs, filed this 18th Congress Senate Bill No. 100 entitled “National Center for Geriatric Health and Research Institute Act”.

“This is a good start for our priority bills.”

“Coincidentally, I filed Senate Bill No. 100 and now we have 100 wheelchairs. This is a good start for our priority bills,” seasoned legislator added.

One of the beneficiaries to receive some of the wheelchairs is Jose Reyes Memorial Hospital where the National Center for Geriatric Health is located.
