DOT APPROVES STAYCATIONS IN 8 METRO MANILA HOTELS

Eight hotels in Metro Manila have secured certifications from the Department of Tourism (DOT) to operate for “staycations” under the general community (GCQ). quarantine.

As of October 9, the following hotels are allowed to accept staycations:

  • Okada Manila
  • Grand Hyatt
  • Makati Shangri-La
  • Nobu Hotel
  • Shangri-La at the Fort
  • Solaire Resort
  • Edsa Shangri-La
  • Joy Nostalg Hotel & Suites Manila

Based on the guidelines issued by the DOT last September, only hotels with 4-star or 5-star rating by the agency are allowed to accommodate guests for staycations in GCQ areas.

These establishments must follow guidelines on guest handling, including the maximum number of guests per room, as well as health and safety standards for ancillary establishments.

Among others, hotels must first apply for and secure Certificates of Authority to Operate for Staycations (CAOS) from the DOT.

They may also resume operations of ancillary facilities such as gyms, swimming pools, restaurants and other food and beverage outlets, except for bars which remain prohibited in GCQ areas.
