DPWH BEGINS ROAD PROJECTS IN MOLINAO, AKLAN

To further enhance agricultural connectivity and improve transportation in Western Visayas, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is concrete paving two farm-to-market roads (FMR) for agri-communities in Malinao, Aklan.

DPWH Region 6 OIC-Director Sanny Boy Oropel identified the projects – the160-lineal-meter road section in Barangay Bulabod and the 924-lineal-meter road portion in Barangay Dangcalan with the provision of 226-lineal meter slope protection, costing P11.8 million and P11.9 million, respectively.

“Once completed, the FMR projects will provide safer and faster routes for more efficient delivery of agricultural goods to nearby towns, reducing transportation costs and increasing the income of local farmers.”

“Once completed, the FMR projects will provide safer and faster routes for more efficient delivery of agricultural goods to nearby towns, reducing transportation costs and increasing the income of local farmers,” Oropel said.

“By constructing these FMRs, we are empowering our local farmers and providing them with the tools they need to thrive in the competitive agricultural landscape,” he added.

Implemented by the DPWH Aklan District Engineering Office, both projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
