DPWH COMPLETES ACCESS ROAD TO FATIMA HILLS

Tourists and local community are now benefiting from the recently-completed access road leading to Fatima Hills, among the most visited places listed as religious center in the town of Macrohon, Southern Leyte.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said that the dusty and bumpy 595-linear meter road was converted into a two-lane concrete paved road with line canal and slope protection.

The project, which is part of the convergence program of DPWH and the Department of Tourism (DOT), is expected to facilitate local community development.

“The construction of this access road aims to promote rural and value chain development.”

“Hopefully, this project will boost agricultural and rural enterprise productivity, as well as tourism of Macrohon,” the public works chief concluded.
