DPWH COMPLETES FILINVEST TENT ‘WE HEAL AS ONE’ CENTER – VILLAR

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar has announced that a new health facility to treat COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) has been completed in southern Metro Manila through the efforts of the government and the private sector.

The 9th “We Heal As One” Center was put up at the Filinvest Tent in Alabang, Muntinlupa City that will augment the government’s efforts against COVID-19 pandemic, said Villar.

In preparation for the turnover of the facility to the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF), punch listing of the Filinvest Tent “We Heal As One Center” was conducted recently by DPWH Undersecretary Emil Sadain, DPWH Build Build Build Committee Chairperson Anna Mae Lamentillo, DPWH COVID-19 Committee Vice Chair Engr. John Dominic Pulido, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) chief General Jose Embang and Office of Civil Defense (OCD) General Services Division Chief Christopher Gacutan.

Filinvest Tent “We Heal As One” Center has a capacity for 108 beds and will be managed by the OCD and the BFP.

The construction materials for the redesign and transformation of the Filinvest Tent into amakeshift hospital was sponsored by the Filinvest Development Corporation.

On the other hand, the Yuchengco-led construction firm EEI Corporation provided the manpower for the repurposing of the Filinvest Tent into a quarantine facility while the hospital beds were donated by the Villar Group of Companies.

“The place was chosen for its accessibility to major thoroughfares in the south.”

The public works chief said that the Filinvest Tent was chosen for its accessibility to major thoroughfares in the south with its major entry and exit points only a few minutes travel from Makati through SLEX/Skyway.

“Just like the eight previously completed mega quarantine facilities, Filinvest Tent ‘We Heal as One Center’ will be fully-air-conditioned and is complete with necessary facilities,” the public works head added.

Villar said the eight other mega quarantine facilities prepared by the government and supported by the private sector are the PICC-Forum; World Trade Center; the Ninoy Aquino Stadium; Rizal Memorial Coliseum; ASEAN Convention Center in Clark, Pampanga; National Government Administrative Center; New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac; Philippine Sports Complex (ULTRA), Pasig City; and the Philippine Arena – 3 Big Tents, Ciudad de Victoria, Bocaue, Bulacan.
