DPWH COMPLETES ILOILO CITY EVACUATION CENTER

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a new multi-purpose building project that will serve as an emergency evacuation center in the district of Arevalo, Iloilo City.

DPWH Region 6 OIC-Director Sanny Boy Oropel said that the project enhances the disaster response capabilities of the province by offering a versatile facility with multi-functional amenities that will cater to the needs of local communities in Arevalo.

The project also includes a reception area, mess hall, administration office, storage area, toilet and bath with provision for persons with disabilities (PWD), parking area, and provision of anaerobic baffled reactor generator room and transformer.

“This new evacuation center is a manifestation of our shared responsibility and determination in ensuring the safety and security of Ilonggos,” Oropel said.

The project was implemented by DPWH Regional Office 6 in the amount of P48.6 million.
