DPWH COMPLETES NUEVA ECIJA HANGING BRIDGE – VILLAR

Residents of the adjacent Barangays of Berang and San Pedro in the Municipality of Sta. Rosa in Nueva Ecija lauded the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for the completion of a hanging bridge that now connects the two villages separated by a creek.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Ricardo Puno said that residents no longer use wooden rafts pulled by a rope to reach the other barangay with the establishment of the 97-meter bridge that provides a better and safer connection.

The hanging bridge also allows easy and more convenient access to essential goods and services as residents will no longer travel for 25 minutes via the Sta. Rosa – Tarlac and Sta. Rosa – Jaen Roads.

“DPWH aims to construct more projects like Berang Bridge as it leaves a great impact to residents and helps improve local development,” Villar stressed.
