DPWH FINISHES 2 PROJECTS IN SORSOGON

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the rehabilitation of two revetment structures in Sorsogon, situated in the barangays of Bagacay to Paco in the municipality of Gubat, and Cogon in the town of Juban.

With a combined length of 1-kilometer, the dikes in Gubat and Juban now ensure the security of the coastal communities and safeguards their source of livelihood as reported by Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio Eduarte to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan.

“The rehabilitation project will serve as a catalyst in improving the rural economy through easy and low transportation costs of agricultural and marine products from neighboring barangays to the town proper.”

“The primary objective of the ₱135 million rehabilitation project is to ensure the provision of safe and reliable infrastructure facilities that will serve as a catalyst in improving the rural economy through easy and low transportation costs of agricultural and marine products from neighboring barangays to the town proper,” Eduarte stressed.

The municipalities of Gubat and Juban are known for their breathtaking natural scenery which attracts investors and tourists.
