DPWH FINISHES 3 MARINDUQUE BUILDING PROJECTS

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) MIMAROPA has completed the construction and improvement of three building projects that are seen to improve the quality of public services in the town of Torrijos, Marinduque.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Office Director Gerald Pacanan said that a new Commercial Complex, Municipal Hall, and Legislative Building were completed for the local government of Torrijos.

The 610-square-meter Torrijos Commercial Complex offers numerous benefits for both business owners and the community, as it serves as a focal point for various businesses, including retail stores, restaurants, offices, and other service providers.

“It will also help create job opportunities, bolstering the local economy through taxes, rental income, and support for neighboring businesses.”

“Constructed in the amount of P87 million, this mix of enterprises has the potential to foster a lively setting and draw a diverse clientele in the area. It will also help create job opportunities, bolstering the local economy through taxes, rental income, and support for neighboring businesses,” Pacanan explained.

Also built beside the commercial complex is the new Torrijos Municipal building which is a two-story structure housing a total of 27 rooms to accommodate the office for DSWD, Tourism, Engineering, Human Resources, Assessor, Treasury, Local registry, as well as the CAO and Public Information on the ground floor, while the second floor comprises of the Mayor’s office, designated offices for the Budget, Accounting, General Services, a dedicated storage area and a conference room.

The new Torrijos Legislative building, on the other hand, was built with 23 rooms, with provisions for various spaces including 11 Sangguniang Bayan offices, a Session Hall, a Conference Room, and a library.

The P67.5 million municipal hall and legislative building projects will facilitate the delivery of enhanced public service.
