DPWH FINISHES BRIDGE PROJECT IN NUEVA ECIJA

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a bridge that is now benefiting farmers and locals in Barangay Burol, General Mamerto, Nueva Ecija.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad reported the completion of a 2-lane bridge spanning 25 meters complete with railings and solar-powered street lights to provide additional safety during low visibility conditions.

“The completed bridge now connects two communities separated by an irrigation system allowing safer and shorter travel time for residents especially farmers to the town proper and nearby markets,” Trinidad explained.

“The bridge significantly enhances the convenience of transportation, agricultural trading, education, and healthcare services in the community.”

Prior to the project completion, residents of Barangay Burol often used indirect routes to reach their destination due to limited accessibility and the absence of a reliable bridge.

The bridge was constructed in the amount of P7.7 million funded under the Basic Infrastructure Program of the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
