DPWH FINISHES FARM ACCESS ROAD IN DINAGAT ISLANDS

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) constructed an all-weather road that is presently helping an agricultural community in Loreto, Dinagat Islands.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, DPWH Caraga Regional Director Pol Delos Santos and DPWH Dinagat Islands DEO District Engineer Noel Basañes said that a two-lane concrete road with line canal was completed to improve access between Barangay Sta. Cruz and Sitio Cambinliw, Loreto, Dinagat Islands.

“The entire Sta. Cruz-Cambinliw (Lauban-Mini Hydro) Road stretching 3.65 kilometers is now accessible to all types of vehicles even during heavy rains.”

With the completion of the said project, the entire Sta. Cruz-Cambinliw (Lauban-Mini Hydro) Road stretching 3.65 kilometers, with spillway, box culvert, slope protection and line canal is now accessible to all types of vehicles even during heavy rains.

“The benefits of the new road include facilitating the delivery of agricultural goods and providing locals access to other essential services available in the town proper,” Basañes explained.

The Construction of the Cambinliw (Lauban-Mini Hydro) Road was completed by DPWH Dinagat Islands DEO in the first quarter of 2023, in the amount of P44.1 million.
