DPWH FINISHES ROAD IN AGUSAN DEL NORTE TOWN

The completed road concreting project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte has improved local agricultural industry in the area.

DPWH Regional Office 13 Director Pol Delos Santos, in a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan and Undersecretary for Mindanao Operations Eugenio Pipo, Jr., said that the upgrading from gravel to concrete of the Sitio Afga Road in Barangay Lower Olave has led to easier and faster delivery of farm products to market centers in Agusan del Norte.

Implemented by the DPWH Agusan del Norte District Engineering Office (DEO), the 2.08-kilometer long, 9.1-meter wide Sitio Afga Road connects its barangay and neighboring villages of Linao-Linao and Bulak to both the town center of Buenavista and the Daang Maharlika main highway.

“The newly-concreted farm-to-market road in Sitio Afga, which complements other successfully constructed road opening and paving initiatives in the area, has allowed better connectivity and lower transportation cost for farmers.”

“The newly-concreted farm-to-market road (FMR) in Sitio Afga, which complements other successfully constructed road opening and paving initiatives in the area, has allowed better connectivity and lower transportation cost for farmers,” Pipo said.

“Aside from boosting farm productivity and profitability, access to scenic views and natural resources within the sitio was also made safer and more convenient, attracting visitors and possible investors that can open up eco-tourism and agro-forestry opportunities in the area,” he added.

The concreting of the Sitio Afga Road was completed in the amount of P49.72 million funded under the convergence program between the DPWH and Department of Agriculture (DA).
