DPWH FINISHES SULTAN KUDARAT ROAD PROJECTS

Two preventive road maintenance projects by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now provide seamless and more convenient travel in the province of Sultan Kudarat.

Completed in Tacurong City is a 3.25-lane kilometer asphalt overlay along Kidapawan-Allah Junction Road and another 2.97-kilometer asphalt overlay along Marbel-Allah Valley-Cotabato Road in Barangay Dansuli, Isulan.

“The Sultan Kudarat 1st District Engineering Office allocated P27 million and P24 million sourced from the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA).”

DPWH Region 12 Director Basir Ibrahim explained to Secretary Roger Mercado that the Sultan Kudarat 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) allocated P27 million and P24 million sourced from the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

“Asphalt overlay is part of the Department’s standard preventive maintenance to preclude deterioration and eventually extend the life span of national roads,” Mercado stressed.

Asphalt prevents surface water from entering and weakening the underlying pavement of the roads, providing long-term ease of access for residents and visitors traveling to nearby towns and tourist attractions.
