DPWH IMPROVES ROAD TO COMPOSTELA TOURISM SITES

A concrete road that was paved by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has made access to hard to reach tourist spots in Compostela, Davao de Oro easier.

In her report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office 11 OIC-Director Juby Cordon said that the DPWH Davao de Oro Second District Engineering Office (DEO) has paved a total of 7.92 kilometers of road starting from the existing Barangay Ngan Road to far-flung parts of the mountainous community.

“Through the new access road, locals and tourists can now conveniently reach potential tourism attractions in Compostela such as the Bongkilaton Cave, Pansan Falls, Tagbubunlas Falls, and Mandaya Village,” Cordon explained.

“The DPWH Davao de Oro Second DEO also completed the application of reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings and construction of concrete lined canal as well as other minor drainage structures to ensure safety of road users.”
