“The flood mitigation structure in Barangay Ariendo in Bongabon town has a total length of 719.2 lineal meters.”

β€œThe structure now serves as the first line of defense against overflowing of the river bank for the nearly 2,000 residents in Barangay Ariendo, which is one of Bongabon’s thriving onion production areas,” Bonoan said.

Through the completed structure, local farmers are expected to see a boost in their agricultural productivity.

The construction of the flood protection structure was implemented by the DPWH Nueva Ecija Second District Engineering Office (DEO) in the amount of P82 million sourced from the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2022.
