DPWH STARTS WIDENING OF 2 QUIRINO BRIDGES

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) commenced two bridge widening projects in Barangay Villa Santiago, Aglipay, Quirino, to complement the ongoing widening from two lanes to four lanes of Cordon Aurora Boundary Road in Isabela Boundary-Junction Dumabato Section.

DPWH Secretary Roger Mercado, citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 2 Director Loreta Malaluan, said that the bridge widening projects will cater to the growing number of vehicles plying this national road section.

“The project has an allocation of P25 Million each from the 2022 General Appropriations Act.”

The bridge widening projects will cover the additional lane on both sides of the existing one-span reinforced concrete deck girder (RCDG) bridges, where girders will be constructed onsite.

Also included in the scope of works are the construction of a bored pile foundation, concrete paving of more or less 100-meter approaches, pavement markings, and installation of LED solar street lights.
