E.B. MAGALONA, VICTORIAS CITY SHARE BEST PRACTICES

The Municipality of E. B. Magalona in Negros Occidental strengthened its partnership with the City of Victorias through “knowledge sharing” of best practices.  

Mayor Marvin Malacon and several heads of the Municipal Government presented some of the best practices of E. B. Magalona with Victorias City delegation, led by Mayor Javee Benitez, at the Asenso Building at the E. B. Magalona Public Plaza recently.

“We’re connected as neighbors so we would like to share each other’s best practices.”

For his part, Malacon said E. B. Magalona always looks up to Victorias City as its “big brother” in terms of development.

The municipal mayor assured Benitez of his full support for future plans on partnership. 

The conduct of knowledge sharing was also part of Benitez’s role as president of the Association of Chief Executives (ACE) of Negros Occidental.    

Sharing their best practices were the Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), as presented by its head, Engr. Erwin Poniado, and project development assistant Marvelyn Serrano; Municipal Tourism Office, with Tourism-designate Ma. Teresa Alvarez; and Liga ng mga Barangay, with its president, Punong Barangay Rosalita Arsenal of Tabigue, assisted by Punong Barangay Leah Beri of Tanza, and Punong Barangay Sharen Belen of Pasil.

Also attending the meeting were MENRO-designate Jojo Vargas, Human Resource Management Office head Isabel Armila Patrata, Private Secretary Joel Antonio, Consultant Danny Dangcalan, and MPDO staff Christian Gerard Rolen Mapas. 

From the Victorias City Government were City Planning and Development Officer Evangeline Alo, City Tourism Officer Marian Rica Calseña, City Information Officer Joy Famini, and Liga ng mga Barangay president Richard Julius Sablan.

Joining them were Octavel Manzan, secretary of ACE Negros Occidental, and Allana Montepio, geographical coordinator for Victorias City of 3rd District Rep. Jose Francisco Benitez.
