FRASCO JOINS 28TH RODEO FESTIVAL IN MASBATE CITY

Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco joined tourists and locals in the action-packed kick-off of the 28th Rodeo Festival in Masbate City.

“Tourism is now one of the strongest pillars of our economy, providing over five million jobs for fellow Filipinos, and it is precisely festivals like this that provide communities with economic advancement,” Frasco told the crowd of spectators at the Rodeo Arena.

“My deep congratulations to the province of Masbate for keeping this festival alive and well that gives the Filipino people so much source of national pride for being a unique and truly world-class festival.”

The tourism head led the ceremonial rope cutting, toast of pure cow’s milk, and lighting of the urn at the Rodeo Arena together with Masbate Governor Antonio Kho, Masbate City Mayor Socrates Tuason, Rodeo Masbateño Inc. (RMI) President Ruby Sanchez Morano, and other dignitaries.

In addition to the main events, attendees can partake in various activities such as cattle drives, the traditional Huego de Toro, and other competitions.

Visitors, both local and foreign, can also immerse themselves at the festival grounds, which offer diverse attractions including a food park, a beer plaza, fiesta rides, and a trade fair.
