FRASCO LAUNCHES 1ST PH TRAVEL FAIR IN US

Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco was beaming with pride and love of country as she unveiled the first-ever Philippine Travel Fair in the United States of America.

“I am extremely delighted to know that the Philippines continue to be a top-of-mind destination for our friends here in the USA. I can feel the nostalgia and longingness as well of our kababayans here,” Frasco said in an interview with reporters.

“The beauty about visiting the Philippines now is that our President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., has ensured the openness of the country to travel and tourism, especially coming out of the pandemic that had imposed restrictions and lockdowns,” the tourism chief added.

In a grand display of love for the Philippines, Filipinos and Filipinos-at-heart flocked to the CML Studios in Burbank, California, for the first-ever Philippine Travel Fair.

Favorite airlines and tour operators joined the travel fair, offering discounted rates and travel bundles for the next holiday vacation to the Philippines.

Philippine artisanal products and uniquely Filipino items were also up for grabs at the travel fair, leaving a big smile on the faces of all those who came!

“The event is a wonderful opportunity for Filipinos, not just those from Los Angeles but across the USA, to revisit their roots through the many products that highlight the distinct Filipino brand.”

Tourism Attaché Richmond Jimenez of the Department of Tourism (DOT) – Los Angeles Office said the event, the first of its kind in the United States, “is a wonderful opportunity for Filipinos, not just those from Los Angeles but across the USA, to revisit their roots through the many products that highlight the distinct Filipino brand.”

“We are grateful for the feedback from our participating merchant partners that the travel deals inspired many of our kababayans to return and visit their motherland along with their family and friends,” Jimenez added.

In pursuit of the DOT’s vision to maximize international tourism, the DOT – Los Angeles Office mounted the travel fair, the first of its kind in all of the United States, to entice Filipinos and their friends and family who are based in the US to visit the Philippines.

Much to the delight of travel fair visitors, merchants such as Philippine Airlines, EVA Airways, Singapore Airlines, Starlux Airlines, China Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Qatar Airways offered huge discounts on plane tickets to the Philippines.

Meanwhile, SITA Tours, Sky Vacations, Holidays with Downtown, Mango Tours, Happy Sun Travel, Majestic Vacations, Innovative Travel, Sunrise Travel from Las Vegas, Travel Jam from San Diego, RC Travel, Island & Cruise Adventure, Laguardia Travel also from San Diego, Hyssop Travel, My Travel Specialist, JJ Bargain Travel & Tours, My Global Life, and Elite Voyages, to name a few, also offered bargain travel deals for those who wanted to experience the Philippines.
