GAB VOWS SUPPORT FOR PROFESSIONAL BILLIARDS

The Games and Amusements Board (GAB), led by Chairman Atty. Francisco Rivera, met with professional billiards players, promoters, managers, and industry stakeholders to discuss initiatives aimed at strengthening professional cue sports in the Philippines.

Among those present were renowned billiards figures Roel Esquillo, Anton Raga, Jacob “Hammerman” Soriano, veteran sports journalist Marlon Bernardino, and other representatives from the local billiards community.

“Our discussions focused on athlete licensing, tournament regulation, international participation, promoter accreditation, and measures to further professionalize the sport while ensuring the welfare and protection of athletes and stakeholders,” Rivera said.

“The meeting also highlighted the importance of the role of GAB-sanctioned events in promoting transparency, legitimacy, and athlete protection.”
