GOV’T EMPLOYEES TO GET WAGE HIKE IN 2023 – CO

Starting 2023, the lowest monthly salary in government will be at P13,000 for the regular position at Salary Grade (SG) 1 based on Republic Act 11466 or the Salary Standardization 5 law (SSL 5), the chairperson of the House committee on appropriations said.

AKO BICOL Party-list Representative Zaldy Co said the 2023 wage hikes in government will be the fourth and last tranche from RA 11466.

“SSL 5 covers all civilian personnel in all branches of national government, whether regular, contractual, casual, appointive, elective, full-time, or part-time.”

Co also said SSL 5 covers all civilian personnel in all branches of national government, whether regular, contractual, casual, appointive, elective, full-time, or part-time.

“In national government, there are eight step increments per salary grade, so there is a range per SG. For example, SG 1 in the Fourth Tranche is P13,000 to P13,780 monthly. SG 11 is from P27,000 to P29,075. SG 15 is from P36,619 to P39,367. SG 21 is from P63,997 to P70,933. SG 25 is from P102,690 to P115,012,” the legislator noted.

The lawmaker said, there are different provisions in SSL 5 for local government units, including the barangay level. There is a percentage of the salary schedule to be followed in Section 10 of RA 11466.
