GRAND CORONATION CAPS CALOOCAN’S 62ND ANNIVERSARY

To properly end the month-long celebrations for the city’s 62nd Anniversary, the city government held the Grand Coronation Night for the annual Miss Caloocan at the Caloocan City Sports Complex recently.

21 young women from different areas of the city hurdled the preliminary stages of the said pageant, with Kim Velasco ultimately crowned as this year’s Miss Caloocan, while Chielomia Serrano, Ryanne Andrhea Simon, Kairi Clemente, and Pia Alexa Anicieta were declared as the 1st to 4th Runners-up, respectively.

The panel of judges, composed of renowned entrepreneurs and fashion icons, was led by Caloocan First Lady and Chairman of Cultural Affairs and Tourism Council (CATC) Aubrey Malapitan.

City Mayor Along Malapitan congratulated the candidates for showcasing not only the beauty and grace of a Filipina but also their innate kind-heartedness and love for advocacy.

“Our candidates are role models of what we should be as citizens of Caloocan.”

The city mayor likewise praised all the women in the city for the significant effects of their efforts in community-building and social change, and emphasized the commitment of the city government to be a place where empowered women flourish.
