The House of Representatives (HRep) held its flag-raising ceremony on Monday, marking the resumption of plenary sessions.
House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, together with Senior Deputy Speaker (SDS) Ferdinand Hernandez, graced the ceremony.
“The House of Representatives’ strength goes beyond titles.”
Hernandez underscored the role of employees in rebuilding public trust for the HRep, stressing that the institution’s strength goes beyond titles and commending the dedication, integrity, and commitment of the HRep workforce.
“You are our partners. Partners in service. Partners in sacrifice. Partners in rebuilding what this institution rightfully deserves,” the legislator stressed.
The South Cotabato lawmaker acknowledged the challenges faced by the 20th Congress, describing it as “a roller coaster ride,” but expressed confidence that public trust and credibility can be restored through collective effort and common values.
“It will not be easy, but with sincere and honest-to-goodness intentions, and with all of us moving together, it is not only possible—it is inevitable.”

The final stretch of the first session of the House of Representatives under the 20th Congress will focus on the passage of more priority legislation from the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC).
Plenary action on the priority bills shall be taken based on readiness, while technical work continues on the other bills.
Before it went on Holy Week break, the HRep passed 18 of the 52 priority measures of the LEDAC.
The first session of the 20th Congress adjourns sine die on June 6, 2026.
