HOUSE SECRETARIAT LAUDED AS BACKBONE OF LAWMAKERS

Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta Party-list Representative Migs Nograles lauded the Secretariat officials and staff, as well as congressional staff, of the House of Representatives for their hard work and for being the backbone of House Members in the fulfillment of their legislative work and duties.

Nograles related how all the House Members, especially Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, are very proud of the House workforce.

“Every time may meeting kami, lagi niyang sinasabi ‘kayang kaya ng staff yan.’ I believe each and every one of you deserve to be here because you are the best and the brightest to be able to become the backbone of every congressman representing his or her district and the Filipino people,” the legislator explained.

“We recognize all your efforts and the hard work that you put in.”

“We recognize all your efforts and the hard work that you put in,” the lady lawmaker stressed, adding that “Kayo po ang backbone ng Kongreso, kayo po ang backbone ng bawat congressman dito.”


Nograles said she herself can attest on the dependability of the House workforce.

Aside from being an Assistant Majority Leader, she is also the vice chairman of five committees and a member of 17 other committees.

“I have 21 committees. I thank the secretariat of all 21 committees (dahil) magsusurvive lang po talaga ako dahil sa guidance ninyo being a neophyte congresswoman. Alam ninyo kung sino ang mga kinukulit ko dito. So maraming salamat po.”

Nograles stressed that it has always been her family’s honor to be an integral part of the Batasang Pambansa, starting from her father, the late former Speaker Prospero C. Nograles, who became the first Mindanaoan Speaker.

“I think it was my Dad who really made sure to coin the term that the House will be the ‘office of the people’.“

Her brother, Civil Service Commission Chairman Karlo Nograles is also a former House Member, serving as Chairman of the Committee on Appropriations during his term.

Her other brother Jericho Jonas Nograles also served as representative of the PBA party-list.


The lady lawmaker graduated valedictorian from the FEU-DLSU JD-MBA Dual Consortium.

She is also a lawyer, a mover for youth development, and an advocate for athletes and artists, among others.

Atty. Roentgen Bronce, Executive Director of the Knowledge Management Systems Bureau, which hosted the ceremony, described Rep. Nograles as an “epitome of beauty, substance and cool.”
