HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR GADGETS

Quality gadgets don’t come cheap, especially if you work with graphics or use them for extended periods of time on a regular basis. Because they are not readily replaceable, it is essential to take proper care of your equipment in order to keep them operating smoothly for as long as possible while also ensuring that you get the most out of what you paid for.

Keep them away from extreme conditions

Gadgets break down easily when exposed to direct sunlight, or spaces that are too cold or too hot. Even when in storage, it’s advised to keep them in spaces that are only 25 to 30 degrees celsius. It is also important to keep them stored in cushioned containers such as laptop cases or sleeves, especially when storing them in moving vehicles. Exposure to direct sunlight can affect your gadget’s battery life, and you might notice that it overheats faster under the sun. All electronics are prone to breaking because of overheating.

Watch out for moisture

Another thing to look out for is making sure that it’s not exposed to moisture or water. Even with the improvements to water resistance technologies available today, prolonged exposure to moisture is still damaging to all electronics. This is why your devices shouldn’t be reachable by your kids or pets.

Maintain your devices regularly

Laptops or computers should be sent for cleaning and proper hardware check up at least once a year, or twice a year for heavy users. More so for people in spaces that can be dusty. To ensure that all accumulated dust is removed, and no components are incorrectly handled, it’s better to get these done through a professional service. Look for one with the insurance that if you experience any issues after getting it cleaned, they will compensate for it. Always save a backup copy of your files and important documents before proceeding.

For cellphones and tablets, since we’re more prone to using these even when we go out, these gadgets pick up the most dust and grime. It’s recommended to do a deep clean of these portable gadgets at least once every 3 months. This includes cleaning the screen and all the ports of your gadget.
