KANANGA, LEYTE ROAD GETS ASPHALT OVERLAY – VILLAR

Motorists are now experiencing smoother, faster, and safer travel along the newly-asphalted portion of Palo-Carigara-Ormoc (PCO) Road in the municipality of Kananga, Leyte.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said that the asphalt overlay project of 8.024-lane kilometers at the 4-lane PCO Road in Barangay Libungao was implemented by DPWH Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO).

A total of P46.55 Million was allocated for the road preventive maintenance project to prevent early deterioration of concrete pavements.

The project also included reflectorized yellow and white pavement markings aimed to reduce risks of road accidents.

“Knowing that the PCO Road used to be a rough and uneven road, this improvement is beneficial to the locals, most especially the public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers who are the main users of the road in the area,” Villar said.
