LA UNION PAROLEES JOIN REFORESTATION DRIVE

The Provincial Government of La Union signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the La Union Province Parole and Probation Office (LUPPO) in fostering ecological integrity and a clean and healthy environment.

This is in line with the provincial government’s #KalikasanNaman Campaign.

The MOA signing took place at the La Union Provincial Capitol lobby, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Forest native seedlings and a 2-hectare lot area located inside the Damortis Provincial Nursery will be provided to the LUPPO for seedling propagation and enrichment planting activities of their parolees or probationers.

The partnership highlights the importance of #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan in achieving a common goal for the betterment of the environment and community.

In her message, Governor Rafy Ortega-David emphasized the significance of collective efforts in preserving nature and restoring natural resources.

“Restoring the environment and natural resources is one of the highest forms of environmental stewardship and a constitutional duty of each and every one,” Ortega-David stressed.

The provincial government continues to show its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and protection as it becomes the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
