LAGMAN ORGANIZES MAYON DISASTER RESPONSE DESK

Albay Governor Grex Lagman has ordered the creation of a Disaster Response Desk (DRD).

“The DRD will facilitate support from national government Agencies (NGAs), non-government organizations (NGOs), local and international organizations, and private sector agencies to provide for the needs of our Mayon-affected evacuees,” Lagman explained.

The governor issued Executive Order No. 33, or “Creating a Disaster Response Desk (DRD) to Facilitate Support from National Government Agencies (NGAs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Local and International Organizations, and Private Sector Agencies, in the Province of Albay, providing for its composition and functions.”

DRD will set up a disaster response help desk to accommodate inquiries and complaints from the evacuees regarding the donations.

DRD will set up a disaster response help desk manned by Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office staff to accommodate inquiries and complaints from the evacuees regarding the donations they will receive or those the PGA had already received.

All in-kind donors shall coordinate with APSEMO, and the latter will decide whose office the goods shall be entrusted to.

APSEMO will coordinate with the Provincial Health Office led by Dr. Estela Zenit for hygiene kits, medicines, or any healthcare goods.

Donations will be turned over to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office for foods or non-food products, headed by Ma. Vivien Cea.

The disaster response help desks will monitor and report to the DRD regarding the status of donations from NGOs, NGAs, from both local and international.

Interested parties can coordinate directly with the Provincial Treasurer’s Office for cash and check donations.

APSEMO must submit all consolidated data from concerned offices to the Governor’s Office, Provincial Administrator Office, Provincial Accounting Office, and Provincial Information Office for the media release.

Members of the DRD are the Provincial Administrator’s Office, APSEMO, Provincial Health Office, Provincial Engineer’s Office, Provincial Agriculture Office, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Provincial Budget Office, Provincial Accounting Office, Provincial General Services Office, Provincial Veterinary Office, Provincial Treasurer, and the Provincial Information Office.
