Laguna Governor Sol Aragones successfully secured the approval of the Department of Education (DepEd) for the construction of additional classrooms in the province, following her formal request and coordination with Education Secretary Sonny Angara.
The project, formalized through a contract signing, is expected to address the persistent shortage of classrooms in several public schools across Laguna.
It aims to reduce overcrowding and improve the learning environment for students, ensuring more conducive and safer spaces for learning.
“The approval reflects the importance of strong coordination between national and local government units in responding to urgent school needs.”
“Nagpirmahan na po tayo ng kontrata kasama si DepEd Sec. Sonny Angara. Masaya po tayo na madadagdagan na ang classrooms na isa sa malaking problema natin sa mga school ng Laguna,” Aragones said.
Angara confirmed the initiative, emphasizing the agency’s continued support for education infrastructure expansion nationwide. The education chief highlighted that the approval reflects the importance of strong coordination between national and local government units in responding to urgent school needs.
“The additional classrooms will greatly benefit learners and teachers in Laguna.”
The lady governor expressed gratitude for the swift action of DepEd, noting that the additional classrooms will greatly benefit learners and teachers in the province. She reiterated her commitment to prioritizing education related programs, particularly those that directly address gaps in school facilities and student welfare.
The initiative is seen as part of a broader effort to strengthen the education sector in Laguna through improved facilities and responsive governance, with both DepEd and the provincial government working together to ensure long-term solutions to classroom shortages.
