LEE CLOSES 2023 WITH 7 BILLS THAT BECAME LAWS

AGRI Party-list Rep. Wilbert T. Lee on the last day of the year expressed gratitude to his colleagues in the House and the members of his legislative staff after a productive first full year in the House of Representatives that resulted in seven authored bills being signed into law and 93 bills approved by the House of Representatives on third reading.

In a post in his official Facebook page, Lee also thanked his family for their patience and support as he stressed that he was very blessed “kasi mahaba ang pasensya ng aking pamilya.”

Included in the bills authored by Lee that were passed into law are Republic Act (RA) No. 11953 or the New Agrarian Emancipation Act, RA 11956 or the Estate Tax Amnesty Extension Act and RA 11967 or the Internet Transactions Act of 2023, among others.

“Matindi din ang demands ng public service kasi hindi lang isa boss mo; maraming humihingi ng tulong at maraming kailangang tulungan… Hindi ko magagawa ang tungkulin ko kung wala ang suporta ng aking pamilya,” said Lee in the post.

The Bicolano lawmaker also thanked his colleagues in Congress, as he admitted that it was his first time to work in government, “at bagamat marami akong experience sa larangan ng business, zero ang experience ko sa government work, lalo na ang legislation.”

“But through the kindness of my colleagues in Congress, I learned the ropes and was able to serve my constituents better. Maraming salamat sa House leadership at sa lahat ng aking mga kasama sa Kongreso,” he added.

The lawmaker likewise heaped praise on his hardworking staff in Congress, whom he thanked for their commitment and dedication. “Your work will benefit a lot of our countrymen,” said Lee, “and for this you should be very proud.”

“Thank you for a job well done. In 2023, seven of our bills were signed into law, while 93 of the bills we principally authored and co-authored were passed by Congress on third reading. Iba-iba ang subject ng mga ito, pero iisa ang hangarin: tulungan ang ating mga kababayan para maging Winner Tayo Lahat.”

Lee emphasized that despite the work already done, “marami pang dapat gawin at marami pa ang gagawin natin para sa ating mga kababayan.”

“They need jobs, affordable food, and free medical care. In 2024, we will hit the ground running because the more we accomplish, the more people we can help.”
