MAASIM, SARANGANI OPENS NEW TERMINAL, ROAD

The Municipality of Maasim, Sarangani has inaugurated the P105-million MP Maasim Public Transport Terminal and the P25-million MP Diversion Road.

Mayor Zyrex Pacquiao, together with Former Senator Manny Pacquiao and Governor Rogelio Pacquiao, led the blessing and turnover of the two multi-million projects in the municipality.

The construction of the new public terminal, located at Barangay Poblacion, was financed through the General Appropriations Act of 2021, while the MP Diversion Road project, covering Barangays Poblacion and Colon, was funded by Former Senator Pacquiao.

“These projects represent the power of collaboration and innovation, a testament to the hardwork and dedication of the provincial and municipal officials and partner agencies.”

The projects were implemented through the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Sarangani District Engineering Office, led by District Engr. Rey Francisco.

Mayor Pacquiao also expressed his gratitude for the support of the Pacquiao brothers in realizing these projects for the Maasimians.

In his speech, he said the new public terminal and diversion road would significantly “improve the lives of the people of Maasim by providing a more convenient and efficient way to travel and transport goods.”

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), through the Integrated Livelihood Program, also turned over a check amounting to P7,676,048.50 million for livelihood grants for 266 beneficiaries of Maasim.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) also turned over brand-new motorcycles to 12 coastal barangays of Maasim.

Governor Pacquiao refers to these projects as “a manifestation of our hard work and dedication. It symbolizes our unity and cooperation.”

The former senator Pacquiao added “They represent our commitment to making Maasim a safe place for tourists and investors and where our people can thrive and prosper.”
