Makati Mayor Nancy Binay signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Golden Arches Development Corporation and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at Makati City Hall to launch the Senior Citizen Employment Program, opening more opportunities for senior citizens to stay active in the workforce.
Golden Arches Development Corporation Vice President for Human Capital Group, Ruben Marasigan, shared that McDonald’s will hire two senior citizens for every branch in Makati.

“Isang magandang balita para sa ating mga Makati SENIORitos at SENIORitas,” Binay said. “Masaya ko pong ibinabahagi ang partnership ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Makati, McDonald’s, at DOLE upang magbigay ng trabaho para sa ating mga senior citizen.”
The lady mayor recalled her father’s constant reminder to always look after Makati’s Senioritas and Senioritos.
She highlighted the importance of inclusive employment, saying that meaningful work helps senior citizens remain engaged while contributing to the local economy.
“Hindi lamang ito nagbibigay ng dagdag na kabuhayan, kundi pagkakataon din para manatiling produktibo at mas engaged sa komunidad ang ating senioritos at senioritas.”

Also present during the signing were Councilors Mayeth Casal-Uy, Levy Ramboyong, Ferdie Eusebio, Bong Ariones, Arlene Ortega, Ina Sarosa, King Yabut, and Tristan Pangilinan, together with PESO Officer-in-Charge Christoper Navarra and MSWD Head Baby Lumang.
Representing the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) were Makati-Pasay Field Office Director II Leonides P. Castillon Jr., Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Ryan Roberto Delos Reyes and Labor and Employment Officer III Nora Garcia.
Also in attendance from Golden Arches Development Corporation were Marites J. Domingo, Director for Talent Management, Human Capital Group; Sheila Abril, South Region HR Manager; and Jeq Singson, South Region Operations Manager.
