MANILA STARTS DISTRIBUTION OF CHRISTMAS BOXES

The first day of December also marked Day One of the distribution of Christmas gift boxes in the City of Manila.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna and Vice Mayor Yul Servo handed over the Noche Buena food boxes to Manila residents.

A day before the Day 1 of the distribution, Lacuna and Servo inspected thousands of the Noche Buena food boxes at the San Andres Sports Complex.

“Some 695,000 Manileño families will be receiving Christmas food boxes.”

The city government said some 695,000 Manileño families will be receiving the Christmas food boxes.

Each box contains rice, corned beef, spaghetti noodles and sauce, cheese and cans of milk and fruit cocktail.

Senior citizens, on the other hand, will have their own boxes.

Some 160,000 gift boxes will be distributed.

“Some 695,000 Manileño families will be receiving Christmas food boxes.”

According to Atty.Princess Abante, Lacuna’s spokesperson, the City of Manila started giving Christmas gift packs to city residents in 2019.

Barangay officials provide City Hall with the lists of residents and help out in the distribution.

“While issues in some barangay happen, mas mainam sa pangkalahatan na sa barangay ibaba dahil sila ang mas nakakaalam ng mga pamilya na nasasakupan nila,” Abante clarified.
