#MayOpeningBaRiyan? HERE ARE SOME PART-TIME JOBS YOU CAN APPLY FOR

We are very lucky to be living in the digital era. Almost everything requires some sort of technical human expertise that AI cannot replicate. Whether you are a student, someone who wants another source of income, or you simply want to develop skills and gain industry-appealing experiences, plenty of opportunities are out there for you to take. It is just a matter of finding a perfect niche for your expertise, but most of the time, you don’t need to be an expert in something to succeed in any freelance job. Like anything else, with perseverance and commitment to learning, you will eventually become an expert on something.

For many Filipinos, having multiple jobs may still be an alien concept. But even before the pandemic, the demands in the gig economy were already taking a stable climb in the market, partly due to the growing labor transition to digital platforms. Ready to unlock new skills? Here are some of the freelance work you can start applying for:

Online Seller

Level up your Divisoria skills by taking them online! You could either sell your products on Facebook, TikTok, or sign up for other online selling platforms. Turn it into your small business venture where you can decide which products to sell at what price. Consider reselling products, too, from brands you can vouch for. Some, even with their day job, manage to start a small business selling stickers, ref magnets, and random small items, and end up earning 50 to 80 thousand a month. With grit and consistency, nothing is impossible.

Tutor

This part-time job has helped many students finish their studies. And we’re not just talking about just the tutee. We know many students who do tutor work to help themselves, or their parents with matriculation, by teaching younger students. There are also online jobs that specifically look for language tutors for foreign students, so if you happen to be multilingual, might as well earn from it.

Virtual Assistant

This job holds a large, if not the largest, percentage in the gig economy. The listings under this position can go from customer service to scheduler for doctors, lawyers, or clinics. It could really be anything under the sun. The only requirement for this job is a stable and reliable internet, a laptop, and some excellent organizational skills since you will be working on your own.

Social Media Manager

This is, perhaps, one of the most in-demand part-time jobs in the gig economy. About 94% of Filipinos are active social media users and that is exactly why most businesses design their marketing strategies around social media. Whether it be for a brand, a personality, a group, or a political figure, so long as you know the basics of handling a social media account, this job might just be for you. Writer

Love writing? This might just be the best job for you. Some online writing jobs are paid on a per-word basis, while others may hire you with a preset number of articles you should write on a weekly or monthly basis. Share your gifts by writing for a client, a brand, or a public figure, and earn from it. Just a friendly reminder, never dare use chatGPT for your write-ups. (Want to be a Writer? Graphic Designer

Largely thanks to Canva, graphic designing has now become less intimidating. So, if you can work your way around Canva and other graphic design platforms like Adobe Photoshop and many more, this job may offer you a hefty compensation depending on the complexity of the work. Video Editor

Got IG or TikTok skills? Like graphic designing, you can earn from it by taking on video editing jobs. Though some of the listings may require you to have expertise on specific platforms, if you invest your time in learning them, you could definitely apply and ace this gig.  (Want to be a Video Editor?
