MINDA SECURES PERMANENT HEADQUARTERS IN DAVAO CITY

The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) has officially secured its permanent headquarters in Davao City following the signing of a Deed of Sale with the Social Security System (SSS) for government-owned properties located on the 10th and 14th floors of Pryce Tower, the current address of MinDA’s office in Davao City.

This acquisition marks a historic milestone for MinDA. For the first time in its 16-year history, the agency will no longer be renting office space, but will instead operate from a permanent, government-owned headquarters for its Davao City operations.

The establishment of a permanent base provides MinDA with stability and a centralized hub dedicated to coordinating the socio-economic development of the entire Mindanao region.

The establishment of a permanent headquarters at Pryce Tower will allow MinDA to streamline operations, host inter-agency collaborations, and strengthen stakeholder engagement.

During the signing ceremony, MinDA Chairperson, Secretary Leo Tereso A. Magno underscored the importance of the milestone, noting that the new headquarters will serve as a convergence point for MinDA’s program stakeholders.

“Member ng MinDA Board ang lahat ng LGUs represented by the RDCs and BARMM. This permanent office belongs to all of us and will serve as the central hub for our joint efforts to uplift Mindanao,” Sec. Magno stated.

He also expressed appreciation to SSS President Robert Joseph de Claro for facilitating the acquisition, recognizing the agency’s in ensuring the smooth completion of the agreement. Secretary Magno also pledged MinDA’s continued support for SSS programs, particularly in promoting social protection initiatives across Mindanao.

Also present during the signing ceremony were MinDA Executive Director Usec. Janet Lopoz and MinDA Director for Finance and Administrative Services Charlita Escaño.

The establishment of a permanent headquarters at Pryce Tower will allow MinDA to streamline operations, host inter-agency collaborations, and strengthen stakeholder engagement. It will also enhance the Authority’s capacity to drive programs that promote inclusive growth, peace, and sustainable development.

This milestone aligns with the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., reinforcing MinDA’s commitment to advancing the government’s peace and development agenda and contributing to the broader vision of Building a Better Mindanao.

President Marcos Jr. has consistently championed the empowerment of regions outside the capital to ensure that economic progress is felt by all Filipinos. By securing a permanent and dedicated facility, MinDA is now better equipped to execute PBBM’s vision of a highly connected, peaceful, and economically vibrant Mindanao.
