MMDA GIVES CLEAN WATER TO FLOOD-HIT NORTHERN SAMAR

Governor Edwin Ongchuan expressed his gratitude to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) for their valuable assistance during the water purification mission in Northern Samar.

The province was facing a critical shortage of drinking water due to the extensive flooding caused by the torrential rains brought about by the shearline.

The MMDA promptly deployed a skilled water purification team to Northern Samar to address this urgent issue.

Ongchuan acknowledged the importance of clean water access, emphasizing its significance both during normal circumstances and particularly in times of emergencies.

“Ang aming prayoridad ay ang magbigay ng tulong sa mga biktima ng baha,”

“Nagpapasalamat kami sa MMDA sa kanilang tulong at sa pamamagitan nito, nasisiguro natin ang kaligtasan ng ating inuming tubig. Ang aming prayoridad ay ang magbigay ng tulong sa mga biktima ng baha,” the governor said.

“Within a week, the MMDA had successfully delivered 24,792 gallons of drinking water to 27 barangays across 7 towns.”

He shared that within a week, the MMDA had successfully delivered 24,792 gallons of drinking water to 27 barangays across 7 towns, benefiting approximately 13,000 families in Catarman, Lope de Vega, Rosario, Mondragon, Palapag, Pambujan, and San Roque.

The MMDA’s mission focused on assisting in the disaster response operations specifically in areas severely affected by the shearline-induced flooding in Northern Samar.

Upon completing their mission in Northern Samar, the MMDA paid a courtesy visit and conducted an exit conference with Vice Governor Clarence Dato and PDRRMO Rei Josiah Echano to conclude their involvement in the province.
