MMDA IS NOW PHILHEALTH KONSULTA PACKAGE PROVIDER

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) earned a distinct milestone for being recognized as the first government non-uniformed agency to be accredited as Konsulta Package Provider (KPP) in the National Capital Region, as it renewed alliance with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) in promoting and advocating social health insurance.

During the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement at the MMDA Head Office recently, MMDA Acting Chairman Atty. Don Artes expressed gratitude for the “heartwarming” recognition and for giving the agency the opportunity to launch the program that will benefit the MMDA employees and their dependents.

“We are committed to support and promote the social health insurance and PhilHealth’s program for the benefit of the Filipino people, particularly in information dissemination,” Artes said.

PhilHealth President and CEO Emmanuel Ledesma Jr.  gave due recognition to MMDA for being the first government non-uniformed agency to be accredited as Konsulta Package Provider (KPP) in the NCR, and “for committing to provide all its dedicated personnel, staff, including their dependents, with the primary care benefit package, such as health profiling, consultations, diagnostic and laboratory tests such as chest X-rays, fasting blood sugar, and electrocardiograms, as well as medicines for certain medical conditions like asthma, diabetes, and hypertension.”

“Through our renewed alliance, we aim to enhance access to quality healthcare services for all, especially in the dynamic landscape of the National Capital Region.”

“Through our renewed alliance, we aim to enhance access to quality healthcare services for all, especially in the dynamic landscape of the National Capital Region. By synergizing our efforts, we can better address our communities’ evolving healthcare needs and contribute to our nation’s overall health and resilience,” Ledesma said.

Under the agreement, MMDA will allow the display of PhilHealth information materials in their digital and non-digital advertising platforms.

For its part, the state health insurer pledged to prioritize the conduct of orientation seminars and other information dissemination activities for the employees and beneficiaries of the partner agencies during their special events.

In 2023, the scope of PhilHealth’s partnership with MMDA expanded with the signing of  Memorandum of Understanding with PhilHealth NCR for the implementation of  Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (KonSulta Program)—the primary care package of  PhilHealth which includes health profiling, consultations, 13 diagnostic and laboratory  tests (e.g., chest X-rays, fasting blood sugar, and electrocardiogram) and 21 drugs and  medicines for certain medical conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, and hypertension).

The MMDA remained true to its commitment as its Medical Clinic was awarded today its accreditation as KPP.

PhilHealth’s KonSulta Program is a primary care benefit package in line with the provisions of Republic Act No. 11223 or the Universal Health Care Act.
