MMDA UNVEILS 10 ENTRIES FOR 49TH MMFF

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) broke a new record and announced 10 films entries for its 49th edition in December.

The movies were selected from a record-high of 30 submissions, by distinguished members of the MMFF selection committee, led by respected producer and film industry stalwart Jessie Ejercito.

The criteria used in the selection of official entries are artistic excellence (40%), commercial appeal (40%), Filipino cultural value (10%), and global appeal (10%).

The official MMFF 2023 entries based on finished film formats are:

 1. BECKY AND BADETTE 

by The Ideafirst Company

Starring Eugene Domingo and Pokwang

GENRE: Comedy

 2. BROKEN HEARTS TRIP

“Ang 10 na napiling pelikula ay talagang napakagaganda. Ito rin ay base sa aming napanood na trailers at actors at actresses na bumuo ng mga pelikula na ito,” said MMDA Acting Chairman and MMFF Concurrent Chairman Atty. Don Artes.

The 49th MMFF will run from December 25 to January 7 in Philippine theaters. 

The Parade of Stars in the sponsor cities Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela will be on December 17.
