MORE HAZARD MARKERS INSTALLED IN EDSA – LIM

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced that it has installed additional hazard markers along EDSA for give motorists better visibility.

“Seven out of ten units of 300 mm yellow flashing lights have been placed in strategic locations on Edsa for additional road guidance for motorists,” MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim said.

Yellow flashing lights are positioned on the northbound lane of EDSA specifically in front of MMDA approaching Orense Street and before Shaw Boulevard underpass.

Lim added additional hazard markers were installed on the southbound lane of EDSA particularly at the following areas: before Cubao underpass; approach of Santolan-MRT Station; in front of Megamall approach of Shaw Boulevard-MRT Station split road; approach of Guadalupe-MRT station; and in front of San Carlos Seminary.

The MMDA has already installed six units of bollards yellow flashing lights.

“We are still planning on where to place the other three units of yellow flashing lights,” the traffic chief said.

Two of those were placed on the northbound lane of EDSA, specifically at Kalayaan and Pioneer. Meanwhile, the other four were placed on the following areas at southbound portion of EDSA: Scout Borromeo; after Santolan-MRT station; after Ortigas MRT station; and after Guadalupe station.

During the period of general community quarantine, the MMDA installed concrete barriers at the inner left lane of the entire stretch of EDSA to separate private vehicles from the dedicated bus lane.
