NEA NAMES SOUTH COTABATO POWER COOP ACTING GENERAL MANAGER — MASONGSONG

The National Electrification Administration (NEA) has temporarily installed a project supervisor and acting general manager (PS/AGM) at the South Cotabato I Electric Cooperative, Inc.(SOCOTECO I) pending the appointment of a regular general manager.

Through NEA Office Order No. 2020-046 dated February 24, 2020, NEA Administrator Edgardo Masongsong designated Atty. Ricardo Orias, Jr. as PS/AGM to manage the day-to-day operations of SOCOTECO I and ensure the efficient delivery of electric service to its consumers.

Orias is authorized to approve or disapprove the EC Board Resolutions in consultation with the concerned NEA Departments.

In his capacity as PS/AGM, Atty. Orias is authorized to approve or disapprove the EC Board Resolutions in consultation with the concerned NEA Departments; and submit monthly report on the financial, institutional, and technical aspects of its operations.

Also, PS/AGM Orias is authorized to countersign checks, withdrawal slips, and other banking transactions, as well as perform other tasks that may be assigned by the NEA for the purpose of operational efficiency.

Prior to his designation to SOCOTECO I, Orias served as AGM of the Abra Electric Cooperative (ABRECO).

Orias is also currently a department manager of the NEA Management and Consultancy Services Office (MCSO).

SOCOTECO I is the power distributor of Koronadal City and the Municipalities of Banga, Lake Sebu, Norala, Surallah, Sto. Niño, T’boli, Tampakan, and Tantangan of South Cotabato, and the Municipality of Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat.
