NEPOMUCENO TO SMALL BIZ: BOC IS YOUR PARTNER

Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno shared the Bureau of Customs’ (BOC) commitment in supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to capture the global market at the 5th annual ASEAN DHL GoTrade Summit in the Philippine International Convention Center.

In his keynote speech, Nepomuceno called for the MSMEs to trust the BOC in its drive to be a partner in growth.

“We will be your partner in your aspiration to grow, deliver the wealth that we need, and change the fundamental structure of our economy.”

“We will be your partner in your aspiration to grow, deliver the wealth that we need, change the fundamental structure of our economy,” the customs chief said.

“We must become a net-exporting country. We must cease from being a net-importer and that’s the only way to go. In our own little backyard, we will deliver to you our role and we will help you grow,” he stressed.

“We will help you thrive. You have our word, and you have our commitment,” Nepomuceno added.

He also declared that the accomplishments and efforts of the BOC, as well as its development projects all point to the Bureau’s commitment to being the partner in growth, as the current service-oriented economy cannot deliver the wealth that the country needs for growth.

Nepomuceno noted that the country must become a net-exporting country by helping MSMEs to manufacture and export, through the support of the BOC.

Secretary Cristina Roque of the Department of Trade and Industy shared the government’s dedication to helping the business community together with the Bureau to reach its export goals.

“Late at night nako-contact po ‘yan. Then he moves the things just to secure and ensure that the businesses can get their shipment out on time.”

“Commissioner Ariel and I worked on a lot of things. To help, really move the shipments of the large corporations as well as the small and medium. Commissioner, thank you for all the assistance. Late at night nako-contact po ‘yan. Then he moves the things just to secure and ensure that the businesses can get their shipment out on time,” Roque said.

In line with the broader agenda of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to advance digitalization and facilitate trade, the BOC continues to strengthen inter-agency coordination and simplifying customs processes to enable Filipino businesses to participate in global trade.
