NOGRALES: ‘BRAND AID’ RAISES 10K NOCHE BUENA KITS

“Congratulations to our partners in the private sector for reaching 10,000 Noche Buena kits for the Brand Aid: Noche Buena Para sa Lahat initiative which will benefit needy Filipino families this Yuletide season.”

This was the statement of Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles after realizing the goals set for the distribution of the aid and assistance effort with the program partners.

“We call on the charity and generosity of everyone. Let’s all do our share and help our less fortunate kababayans. After all, giving and sharing are what’s important, the true meaning and essence of the holiday season.”

Brand Aid: Noche Buena Para sa Lahat is the multi-sectoral brainchild of several institutions including Rise Against Hunger Philippines, Unilever Philippines, RFM Corporation, Dole Philippines, Century Pacific Food, Inc., and Lazada.

Brand Aid has been coordinating with the Duterte administration’s Task Force Zero Hunger through its Pilipinas Kontra Gutom program. Nograles heads the Task Force.

“An estimated 7.6 million Filipinos experience involuntary hunger and have been listed as living below the poverty line. They belong to families who may not be able to enjoy the normal material trappings of Christmas, including having Noche Buena with loved ones,” the Malacanang official said.

“The spirit of giving this Christmas season has gained added significance and resonance among our stakeholders because of the economic limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Hunger and poverty have been exacerbated by the ongoing health crisis,” he added.

Private sector leaders of Brand Aid, meanwhile, called on their peers in the industry, the academe, civil society, learning institutions, and NGOs to join the Noche Buena drive, explaining that both corporations, groups and individuals can sponsor packages costing from between P100 to P1,500.

“We call on the charity and generosity of everyone. Let’s all do our share and help our less fortunate kababayans. After all, giving and sharing are what’s important, the true meaning and essence of the holiday season,” Nograles stressed.
