NOGRALES: FORWARD NOW MONTALBAN

A day before the implementation of stricter quarantine restrictions, Rizal 2nd District Representative Fidel Nograles on Friday led the youth of Montalban in a ride for hope and resilience dubbed as “Padyak Montalban.”

“We want to assure the people of Montalban that although the next coming weeks or even months may prove difficult, we are one with them in moving forward and riding through this rough and bumpy road together. We want to be a beacon of hope and  solidarity,” Nograles, a consistent advocate for the environment, said.

The solon said he will discuss the possibility of organizing the bikers into a youth volunteer group.

Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman Prospero De Vera also joined the cycling event, which started from Wawa Dam and ended in University of Rizal Montalban campus.

The neophyte lawmaker said he had invited de Vera to discuss how to better implement free higher education in the province.

“Magandang oportunidad na rin dahil karamihan ng mga riders na lumahok ay mga college students na nakikinabang sa free education na ikinakampanya din ni Chairman de Vera,” explained Nograles.

The solon said he will discuss the possibility of organizing the bikers into a youth volunteer group.

Nograled said they would explore partnerships “so that we can lend bicycles to those who are interested in becoming healthier through biking and volunteer work but are unable to buy or procure their own.”

The bikers’ group would be heavily involved in reforestation efforts in the province’s watersheds, among others, he added.

Nograles also vowed to go around Montalban during the stricter quarantine period to distribute cash assistance and relief goods and “ensure that we are all in this together.”
