NOGRALES VOWS SUSTAINED GAINS FOR MONTALBAN

“Sustain the gains, recover from the losses.”

This was Rizal 2nd District Rep. Fidel Nograles’ vow as the campaign period for local candidates kicked off on Friday, March 25.

Foremost among the projects that the Harvard-trained solon believes are crucial to recovery are the Northern Tagalog Regional Hospital and the Rizal-Bulacan Inter-Provincial Road.

Nograles is gunning for the newly-formed 4th District of Rodriguez (Montalban).

“Simple lang naman ang plano natin. We sustain the gains we have achieved during the first three years, and to recover from the massive losses caused by the pandemic,” Nograles said.

“It will be a long and grueling battle, but I am confident that we can fully recover. Nakapaglatag na rin naman tayo ng mga kinakailangan para rito,” he added.

Foremost among the projects that the Harvard-trained solon believes are crucial to recovery are the Northern Tagalog Regional Hospital and the Rizal-Bulacan Inter-Provincial Road.

He said that the hospital would be crucial in providing not only the people of Montalban, but the whole province of Rizal, as well as adjacent areas such as San Jose del Monte in Bulacan, with quality healthcare service without having to go to the capital region.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has emphasized the need for more hospitals and other facilities, and the Level II 200-bed capacity NTRH would go a long way in fulfilling that need,” the solon said.

“Hindi na kailangang bumyahe sa Metro Manila para sa lab test at para magpakonsulta sa mga espesyalista,” Nograles added.

Meanwhile, the 10.37-km. Rizal-Bulacan Inter-Provincial Road would facilitate the transport of goods and people, thus fostering economic activity, the lawmaker said.

The inter-provincial road is seen to cut travel time from Montalban to Baguio from 4 hours down to 2 hours. This would open up opportunities for direct trade not only with Bulacan, but also with the Cordillera Administrative Region, Nograles likewise said.

The young lawmaker also touted the role that the increasingly-active youth of Montalban could play in achieving the newly-formed district’s goals.

Nograles also provided, among others, financial assistance to his constituents, especially during the pandemic.

Nograles relied on youth volunteers during the pandemic in various programs and activities, including reforestation, school cleanups, and disaster response.

“Oras na ng mga kabataan, kaya balak nating gawin ang District 4 na modelo sa kung anong kayang marating sa tulong ng mga kabataan na sabik na sabik na ialay ang kanilang oras, lakas, at talino para sa bayan,” Nograles said.
