NOGRALES VOWS TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF CIVIL SERVICE

Former Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles has vowed to improve the quality of civil service, as well as the performance of government workers as he buckled down to work as chairman of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Nogralas as CSC chairman last March 7. He replaced Alicia Dela Rosa-Bala, who retired last February 2. His seven-year term will expire on Feb. 2, 2029.

“I have learned so much these past years serving in the executive and legislative branches of government, and I hope to bring these lessons with me as I take on my new role in the Civil Service Commission.”

“I am grateful and deeply humbled by this new role entrusted to me by the President which comes with it the responsibilities the office bears to improve the quality of civil servants and be a globally-recognized center for excellence in human resource and organizational development,” said Nograles.

“I am grateful to everyone I worked with in Malacañang during my tenure as Cabinet Secretary, as Chair of Task Force Zero Hunger, Co-Chair of the IATF, and acting Presidential Spokesperson. It has been an honor serving with all of you during one of the most challenging times in our country’s recent history,” he added.

Nograles said he will be bringing much of his work experience in the Palace, in the House of Representatives, as well as in the IATF into his management of civil service.

“I have learned so much these past years serving in the executive and legislative branches of government, and I hope to bring these lessons with me as I take on my new role in the Civil Service Commission to make government services more efficient, more inclusive, and more accessible to the Filipino people through responsible, effective and professional civil servants,” he said.

“Looking forward to realizing this vision with the help of my fellow workers in government!” Nograles added.
