NORTHERN SAMAR HOLDS INVESTMENT SEMINAR FOR LGUS

With the goal to promote investments and boost the economy of Northern Samar, the Provincial Government, through the Provincial Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (PEDIPO), in partnership with the Board of Investments, held a Seminar-Workshop titled “Linangin ang Obligasyon at Kakayahan tungo sa Aktibong Lokal na Pamumuhunan” (BOI-LOKAL) recently at the Sumuroy Hall, Provincial Capitol, Brgy. Dalakit, Catarman, Northern Samar.

Governor Edwin Ongchuan left a positive message hoping for the province to gain more investors.

“Kapag po marami ang ating investors, ibig sabihin po nito malaki ang chance na magkakaroon po ng mas maraming employment opportunities para sa ating kababayang Nortehanon,” Ongchuan stressed.

The seminar aimed to empower local government units (LGUs) in Northern Samar with the knowledge and tools necessary for effective investment promotion and facilitation.

This initiative is further fortified by the technical expertise of the Board of Investments (BOI), whose role is to bridge the gap between investors and LGUs, enhancing the region’s competitiveness.

Leading the BOI team were Ernesto Delos Reyes Jr., Director of the Investment Assistance Services of BOI; Lubin De Vera Jr. Division Chief of the Counseling and Business Requirements Division; and Rosa Arlene Agonoy, Investment Specialist of the Counseling and Business Requirements Division.  

Also present was Vice Governor Clarence Dato, PGNS functionaries, NGA and LGU partners. 

“By bringing LGUs and investors closer together, the province hopes to create an environment conducive to sustainable development, job creation, and economic expansion.”

The Seminar-Workshop BOI-LOKAL promised to be an invaluable learning experience for local leaders and all stakeholders interested in the economic growth of Northern Samar.

“The knowledge gained during this event will undoubtedly pave the way for greater investments and a brighter future for the province,” he concluded.
