The Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta (PBA) Party-list threw its support for alpine skier Asa Miller’s quest for a podium finish in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
“We are proud that Asa Miller is carrying and playing for our flag. Just by qualifying for Beijing, he has already made us proud – because of him we join a handful of countries from Southeast Asia who are competing in the Winter Olympics,” PBA Party-list spokesperson Atty. Migs Nograles said.
Miller will compete in the slalom and giant slalom events of the alpine skiing competition.
“We wish him the best of luck in his two events. May his experience and learnings in the 2018 Winter Olympics help him win a medal this time,” she added.
Miller is the Philippines’ lone representative in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
The 21-year-old, who was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, was only a teenager when he made his debut in the Winter Games in 2018 where he finished 70th out of 110 competitors.
Miller will compete in the slalom and giant slalom events of the alpine skiing competition. He will begin his campaign in giant slalom on February 13 before participating in slalom three days later at Yanqing National Alpine Skiing Centre.
