PH RED CROSS AIDS PATIENTS IN PGH FIRE

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) helped transfer patients of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) after a fire broke out recently in the hospital and provided 16 heavy duty fans to alleviate discomfort of patients from the smoke.

Chairman & CEO Dick Gordon received a call from Director Gap Legaspi for support on patient transfers and fans to flush out the heavy smoke, especially at the Emergency Room (ER).

“We responded right away by sending big industrial fans to ward off the heat smoke and alleviate the discomfort of ER patients.”

“PGH requested our help for patients exposed to smoke from a fire last night. We responded right away by sending big industrial fans to ward off the heat smoke and alleviate the discomfort of ER patients. Kusang Loob! Malasakit! Pakiki-Kapwa Tao! That is our brand!” Gordon said.

The 16 units of heavy duty fans were distributed to the following areas: one air cooler and one industrial fan to the temporary ER at the PGH Atrium to cool the area where there are 30 patients; eight electric fans and one air cooler at the OB Admitting Section where there are 20 patients; and five industrial fans at the Main ER.

Gordon also sent volunteers who helped transport 19 patients to hospitals.
