PH RED CROSS TO SUPPORT CEBU’S MONTH-LONG SINULOG

The Philippine Red Cross has set up five first aid stations with welfare desk and teams of on foot patrol complemented with ambulance units as the Novena mass started last January 11 marking the commencement of the week-long festivity of the Sinulog Festival in Cebu City.

On January 19, the Emergency Medical Unit will be set up in the South Road Properties as part readiness should there be patients in the grand parade.

Two units of food trucks for the meals of PRC volunteer responders are set to be deployed too.  

The Red Cross 143, Red Cross Youth, Emergency Medical Service Volunteers and Medical Corp are fully activated.

PRC Chairman & CEO Dick Gordon assured the organization’s presence throughout the celebration.

“Our EMS teams will remain on standby to deliver medical attention to Filipinos and international tourists participating in the Sinulog Festival,” Gordon said.  

PRC Secretary General, Dr. Gwen Pang, meanwhile, advised the public to exercise caution while participating in the celebration.
