PHILIPPINE TEAM GAVE STERLING PERFOMANCE IN 14TH INT’L MATHEMATICS CONTEST IN SINGAPORE – VILLANUEVA

Senator Joel Villanueva congratulated the Philippine team for topping the 14th International Mathematics Contest held in Singapore last July 27 to 30.

In Senate Resolution No. 841 filed by Villanueva, the veteran legislator commended the Philippine contingent for their “victory and sterling performance.”

“This is another testament to the world class talent of the Filipino youth,” the seasoned lawmaker said.

Trained by the Mathematics Trainers Guild-Philippines, the Philippine team bagged 27 gold medals, 53 silver medals, and 116 bronze medals.

The Philippines bested 13 countries and territories including China, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia.

“The victory of our Philippine team is a source of pride and inspiration to all of us. Their hard work and dedication have set a good example to our future generation–the Filipino youth,” the senator said.
